One of the greatest surprises about Koh Rong and Kog Rong Samloem was that there was bioluminescent Plankton. I would have travelled to the islands simply for this plankton so It was an amazing surprise. I think you need a special camera for the plankton to show up, so unfortunately I have no pictures of it.

What is Bioluminescent Plankton? I had no idea before I swam in it. It is plankton that glows, sparkles, and shimmers when you swim through it. It needs to be dark outside to see and as you move, the plankton sparkles. I swam a couple of times and each time was amazing. I felt like a mermaid in some fairytale with sparkles all arounds me as I moved my arms and legs. However, I think the most incredible time was when the beach was completely empty and Caley and I went skinny dipping in the middle of the night. Truly unforgettable and amazing.
